Engineering Services
Make the right battery decision before you commit.
Assess whether sodium-ion is right for your application, compare the alternatives, and define the battery system around your power, energy and operating requirements.
From backup duration and recharge limits to equipment compatibility, we turn your operating requirements and available technical data into a clear design recommendation.

Our Capabilities
Engineering support for a specific technical question or a complete battery-system assessment.
Depending on the scope, you receive a technology comparison, sizing calculations, a system concept and integration recommendations, with assumptions and outstanding checks clearly stated.
Technology Selection
Compare sodium-ion, lithium-ion and lead-acid options against your energy, power, temperature and service-life requirements. Identify where a change in battery technology is justified.
Feasibility & Cost Comparison
Assess whether a battery option is practical within your space, operating and budget constraints. Compare purchase, replacement and operating costs using agreed assumptions.
Capacity & Power Sizing
Determine the required capacity, power rating and number of packs from your load profile, operating duration and system limits, with allowances for ageing and temperature.
System Configuration
Define the battery arrangement, electrical interfaces and installation requirements. Assess whether the application needs a different voltage architecture or a managed combination of battery technologies.
Compatibility Review
Review charging settings, voltage limits, protection and communication requirements against the existing equipment. Identify interface changes and validation checks before installation
Performance Optimisation
Assess runtime, recharge behaviour and operating strategies under the expected load and environment. Recommend settings and define the checks needed to verify system performance.
How We Work
From requirements to a practical system design.

FAQ
Common questions.
What information do you need to start an assessment?
Share your application, typical and peak load, required operating or backup duration, system voltage, equipment specifications and operating environment. For an existing installation, cabinet dimensions and charging settings are also useful. We will identify any further data needed for the study.
Can you assess batteries or equipment from other suppliers?
Yes. We can review third-party batteries and existing power equipment using the available specifications and test data. An engineering study can be commissioned separately from battery supply, with no obligation to purchase batteries from IONERAS.
What will we receive from the engineering study?
Deliverables are agreed before the work starts. They may include a technology comparison, sizing calculations, a proposed system configuration and integration recommendations. The report states the data used, key assumptions and any further testing required.
Does Engineering include custom development or installation?
Engineering covers assessment, system design and integration planning. Custom cell, pack or battery management system development is scoped through our Development service. On-site installation and commissioning are outside the standard Engineering scope.
